Liquid to attend ESL One New York

Liquid have received an invitation to compete at ESL One New York 2019, the event's organizers announced on Thursday.

The North American squad, who are currently ranked #1, are the second team confirmed for the $200,000 event, which will take place on September 26-29 in Brooklyn, New York.

Jonathan "⁠EliGE⁠" Jablonowski and company join Astralis in the tournament's team list, which will feature four more invited teams. The final two spots will be handed out in online qualifiers, which are set to be held in Europe and North America.

Liquid will return to New York for redemption

Liquid suffered a shocking defeat at last year's edition of ESL One New York, losing 3-2 to MOUZ in the grand final despite winning two of the first three maps.

ESL One New York will also be part of the $1 million Intel Grand Slam Season 2 circuit. Liquid are currently in the lead with two victories while Astralis are second with one win. The teams need four victories to secure the prize.
